Coffee was deeply analyzed by 20 international experts which have developed a conclusion for IARC (The OMS agency for cancer research). In 1992 coffee was put under a list of potential carcinogenic foods (classified as 2b) for bladder cancer. After the latests exams, coffee falls under the category #3 in which there are no evidences of risk. The IARC exam, analyzed more than 500 studies to understand if the world’s most loved beverage could be the cause of cancer.
In the 1990’s the studies showed a higher risk related to bladder cancer. However the most recent studies, not only they proved that possibility wrong, but they also showed that coffee could have a protective effect on uterus and liver tumors.
