Caffè Vergnano

by Fico e Uva

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • 4 empty Caffè Vergnano tins in pastel colors
  • Hammer
  • Nail
  • Soil
  • Fine grain sandpaper for metals
  • Labels
  • 4 small clips
  • Wooden skewers
  • Green and black felt-tip pens
  • 4 small herb plants (mint-basil-thyme- rosemary)

1

To make this little herb garden, use 4 empty Caffè Vergnano tins in pastel colors (yellow-pink-green-blue).
First, smooth the sharp edge of the tins with special sandpaper for metals.
Turn the tins upside down and make 5 holes in the bottom with the hammer and nail. This will serve to drain the water from your herb plants.

2

Write the name of each herb plant with a fine black felt-tip pen on the cardboard labels and draw a small detail of the leaf. Color it green.
In our sample herb garden we have mint, basil, thyme and rosemary.
Clip your labels to the skewers.

3

Transplant the herb plants into the coffee tins, fill them with soil and press well.

4

Insert the proper skewer in each herb plant and water before you set them out on your balcony or windowsill.
