If you love coffee and want to start the day with a 5-star breakfast, you will find many recipes to inspire the chef in you. Here are the tastiest ideas that you can try right away.

Coffee Pancakes

Classic pancakes can be even more delicious if you add a sprinkle of ground coffee. Mix 120g of flour, 2 eggs, 150ml of milk, 2 tsp of ground coffee, 4g of baking powder and 50g of sugar. Pour a ladle full of batter into a hot, buttered pan and cook until golden brown on both sides. You should be able to make 15 pancakes that you can sweeten, as tradition has it, with maple syrup and serve with a good cup of caffè lungo.

Coffee Cake

If you are lactose intolerant or want to prepare a tasty, light breakfast, this is the right dessert for you – the Coffee Water Cake. Prepare 330ml of coffee and let it cool down. Add 300g of flour, 200g of sugar, a sachet of baking powder and 90g of sunflower oil. Mix all the ingredients. Pour into a greased and floured sandwich cake tin and bake at 180°C or 356°F for about 50 minutes. You can cover it with coffee icing prepared with 120g of powdered sugar and 40g of espresso.

Coffee Milkshake

Are you looking for a quick and easy breakfast idea? This is a great Coffee Milkshake: blend 2 cups of cold espresso, 10 ice cubes, 250ml of milk, 3 tbsp of sugar and 2 tsp of cocoa powder. Pour into glasses and if you like, garnish with fresh whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa powder. You can end your breakfast by adding some fresh fruit.

Coffee Ricotta Cream

Here’s an idea that will appeal to the whole family, a healthy, light dessert. Stir 100g of fresh ricotta cheese with 2 tsp of cold coffee, 1/2 a tsp of sugar and 1 tsp of unsweetened cocoa powder. Mix well until you obtain a smooth cream. Serve it in a cup with chocolate chips or spread it on bread, or on dry biscuits for real gourmands.

Coffee Biscuits
If you love traditional tastes, you can make these delicious coffee biscuits. Mix 300g of Italian 00 flour, 150g of butter, 10g of ground coffee, 100g of powdered sugar, 2 tbsp of chocolate chips, 1 egg yolk, 1 whole egg and a pinch of salt. Roll out the dough half a centimetre high and make biscuits using a mould. Bake at 180°C or 356°F for 12 minutes. Bon appetit!
